Regulations

The Best in the West Showdown (BTWS), presented by Flight 915 Sports, is designed to provide a competitive, professionally operated adult basketball tournament emphasizing high-level competition, sportsmanship, safety, and respect.

All players, coaches, team representatives, and staff are expected to comply with these Official Tournament Rules & Regulations. Participation in BTWS constitutes acceptance of these rules.

The Best in the West Showdown will use Round-Robin Pool Play followed by a Single-Elimination Championship Bracket.

4-Game Guarantee

Every registered team is guaranteed a minimum of four (4) tournament games, provided the team remains eligible, appears for its scheduled games, and is not removed or disqualified from the tournament.

Pool Play Structure

• 16 teams divided into four pools of four teams (Pools A, B, C, D)
• Each team plays three Round-Robin Pool Play games against the other teams in its pool
• Following pool play, teams advance to the championship bracket and play at least one additional game — creating the 4-game guarantee
• Teams advancing through the Championship Bracket may play more than four games

Pool-Play Tiebreakers (in order)

• Head-to-head result
• Point differential
• Fewest points allowed
• Most points scored
• Tournament Director-approved tiebreaker or draw if teams remain tied

Championship Bracket

After pool play, teams are seeded into a single-elimination bracket. The final two remaining teams compete in the Best in the West Showdown Championship Game.

Flight 915 Sports reserves the right to adjust pool assignments, seeding procedures, brackets, schedules, court assignments, or game times when reasonably necessary for tournament operations.
